Young people's patriotic enthusiasm
College students are very concerned about politics. In my more than 30 years of work, countless major events have taken place at home and abroad. Whenever it comes to China, some college students show great patriotic enthusiasm.
That's a good thing. If young intellectuals in a country do not care about the future and destiny of the country, the country really has no future. Therefore, college students must be concerned about politics. However, the issue of politics is much more complex than some daily life issues, especially some political issues related to the fundamental interests of the country. If they are not handled well, they will affect the overall situation of the country. College students are patriotic, which should be fully affirmed. However, when encountering major political problems, we should first be calm, think seriously and never be emotional.

Diaoyu Island issue
For some time, the Diaoyu Island issue has attracted great attention of Chinese people and has become a hot topic among college students. Not only the hot debate, some college students also took to the streets to express strong dissatisfaction with the actions of the Japanese government. In the conversation with college students, I asked them such a question: "let's assume that if there are only two countries on earth, China and Japan, will there be the Diaoyu Island problem?" I said I'm sure I won't, and I'm sure my college friends will come to this conclusion.
Why? The reason is simple
Japan is an island country, with 129 million people living on 378000 square kilometers of land. The population density is too large, coupled with the lack of resources. On this alone, if you want to survive, you have to rely on China. How dare Japan say that our Diaoyu Island is theirs?
So what should college students realize from the emergence of the Diaoyu Island problem?
What I want to communicate with college students here is that college students should not only care about politics, but also understand politics. When major events occur between countries, we should first clarify the complex international relations in today's world, face them calmly and be rational and patriotic. To be sure, the Diaoyu Island issue is by no means isolated, because China and Japan are not the only countries in the world. Since the emergence of the political pattern of "one ball, two systems", the relationship between countries in the world, especially between countries adhering to the socialist system and countries taking the capitalist Road, has become more complex. Here is an example of such a major political event in history to support my view.

-World War II-
As we all know, from September 1, 1939 to September 2, 1945, the Second World War broke out in human history. The scale of this war is huge: from Europe to Asia, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, there are 61 countries and regions, and more than 2 billion people have been involved. The combat area covers an area of 22 million square kilometers. According to incomplete statistics, there were more than 90 million military and civilian casualties in the war. The executioners of this war were the fascist axis countries led by Germany, Italy and Japan. During the war, the nashat elements established concentration camps to isolate and detain dissidents, enemy overseas Chinese and members of a specific ethnic, religious or political belief group in a facility isolated from the outside world. Auschwitz concentration camp, established in 1940, is the largest concentration camp in Germany, mainly holding Jews in Poland and Germany. The Nazis established large-scale comprehensive extermination facilities here, including "bathrooms" for killing with poison gas, corpse cellars for storing corpses and incinerators, so as to exterminate Jews. The Nazis also selected prisoners for medical experiments, such as convenient sterilization methods and vivisection of twins. About 4 million people were killed in the concentration camp alone. Japanese fascism has also committed heinous crimes in China, implementing the barbaric "three light policy" and engaging in murder competitions for fun, and carrying out the "Nanjing Massacre". The brutal crimes of fascism are heinous. "Get more help, but less help for injustice". Justice will win and evil will perish. The outcome of the Second World War ended with the United States, the Soviet Union, China, Britain and other anti fascist countries and the people of the world defeating the fascist invaders and winning world peace and progress.
When the war is over, how to deal with the atrocities of fascists?
How to soothe the wounds of all peace loving people in the world?
For the Chinese people, they are particularly concerned about how to deal with Japanese militarists. By comparing Saddam Hussein's bad luck today, it should be said that no matter how to punish the crimes committed by Japanese militarists in the war, it is not too much. Even Japan, a fascist island country in the Pacific Ocean, can be "buried" in the ocean. However, history is not like this. Japanese militarism not only did not receive the most severe punishment, but also received a lot of "favor" from a certain point of view. The reason is that the western capitalist countries led by the United States and Britain do not want such a Pacific island country in the far east adjacent to China to disappear. College students know that a major result after World War II is the birth of a large socialist country like China in the East, which the western world is extremely reluctant to see.
Today, the general strategy of the west is to prevent the emergence of a strong China adhering to the socialist system in the East. The West has never changed or wavered in this strategy. We will talk about this later. Although Japan is a defeated country, it is stained with the light of the capitalist system. In order to curb socialist China, western countries want to use Japan as a chess piece to stir up China's situation. This is the value of Japan's existence in the West! College students care about politics and love their country. The premise is to really understand politics and understand such complex international relations. Here we can play back the historical lens further.

Politics
Politics is not always there. In primitive society, without the concept of private ownership, let alone the state, there would be no politics. Politics, as a social phenomenon and social superstructure, appears when class opposition and the state arise, and is always directly or indirectly related to the state. Politics is the concentrated reflection of economy, and national interests are the core interests represented and reflected by politics. All thoughts and actions contrary to national interests will be opposed at the political level, and their means is to launch war at the expense of force.
We often say that today's world has entered the era of multi polarization, that is, the political interests of any country do not exist in isolation. Dealing with matters between countries requires great wisdom and needs to be grasped from the two dimensions of history and reality.
Reviewing the development process of human society, the 20th century should be regarded as a century of great significance. In the long development of human society, there have been several social forms, such as primitive society, slave society, feudal society and capitalist society. The replacement of feudal society by capitalist society is a great progress in human development.
-Galileo and the Leaning Tower of Pisa-
When I went to Italy, I visited the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. I arrived at the Leaning Tower of Pisa at more than four o'clock that afternoon, when the sun was setting. The afterglow of the setting sun shines directly on the inclined tower, and a green lawn around the tower just sets off against it, giving people a sense of beauty. At this time, I thought of how intelligent human beings are: a leaning tower that has been tilted for hundreds of years will not fall down after wind and rain! But standing by the Leaning Tower reminds me of a person and Galileo's tragic fate. Galileo can be regarded as the pioneer of the scientific revolution. He proved and widely publicized the new world outlook created by Copernicus and Kepler all his life. He shouted: the earth goes around the sun. His actions were strongly opposed by priests and the Pope. Galileo was expelled from the post of professor at the University of Pisa and sentenced to prison. Galileo aroused people's recognition of heliocentrism with his sacrifice under the persecution of the church, and made epoch-making contributions in the process of human ideological liberation and the development of civilization. Galileo had done acceleration experiments on the Leaning Tower of Pisa. If such a research achievement were placed today, I don't know how to praise and reward it! Unfortunately, Galileo lived in a barbaric and foolish feudal era. Science can not ascend the hall of elegance. Science is contrary to religion. Whoever advocates science can only suffer bad luck.

-British bourgeoisie-
In the 1990s, the United States made a film called brave heart. The film depicts such a plot: in order to consolidate his rule in Scotland, King Edward issued a decree allowing British nobles to have the right to marry girls in Scotland for the first night, so as to make nobles loyal to the royal family. What is the first night right? The right of first night was popular in medieval Christian society in Europe. Enjoying the bride's first night became the right to rule and a means to occupy everything of serfs and play with women. For the feudal lords, the young girls in serfs were free prostitutes and unspecified concubines. "First night right" was the extinction of human nature and a great blasphemy of human dignity and freedom.
In 1640, the bourgeois revolution broke out in Britain. This revolution, like lightning, cut through the night sky of medieval feudal society and announced the end of an old system and the beginning of a new system. Therefore, capitalist society has become the protagonist of human society. Compared with feudal society, capitalist civilization and progress have increased, science has been valued, the right of first night has been cancelled, and human society has developed in a more civilized direction. In the Communist Manifesto, Marx and Engels made such a positive description of capitalist society: the total productive forces created by the bourgeoisie in its class rule of less than 100 years are more and greater than those of all previous generations. The conquest of natural forces, the use of machines, the application of chemistry in industry and agriculture, the driving of ships, the operation of railways, the use of telegrams, the reclamation of the whole continent and the navigation of rivers seem to call out a large number of people from the underground by magic. In which Century did you expect such productivity in social labor? The bourgeoisie has played a very revolutionary role in history.
The bourgeoisie was carried away. They admire their existing social system. They shout the slogan of "freedom, equality and fraternity" and boast that their social system is the most perfect social system of mankind. This system is natural and unchangeable. If anyone dares to "gossip" about this existing social system, they will be rude to anyone. Marx certainly didn't listen to this. While affirming the contribution of capitalist society to feudal society, Marx fiercely criticized capitalist society. Marx said: when capital comes to the world, every pore is dripping dirty blood. Isn't that true? As the British law once stipulated, the master has the right to force his "slaves" to engage in all disgusting labor with whips and shackles. If a slave escapes for 14 days, he can be sentenced to life as a "slave" and marked with an s on his forehead or cheeks. If he escapes for three times, he can be convicted of treason and executed. The master can sell, bequeath and rent the "slaves" just like other animals and livestock. College students all know that Britain was once a "sun never sets Empire", but college students may not know that every cornerstone supporting the British Empire is filled with "sin in the sun". From 1757 to 1815 alone, Britain plundered a wealth worth 1 billion pounds from India. After entering the 18th century, Britain became the monopolist of the slave trade at that time. It carried out the evil slave trade in Africa and made amazing profits. The slave ship in Liverpool, the British port city, sold 300000 slaves and made 15 million pounds in the 10 years from 1783 to 1793. The originator of capitalism developed in this way. How can other capitalist countries violate this law! Read Engels's the state of the working class in Britain, Hugo's les miserables, Japan's yemai ridge and the modern age of the United States; College students will understand what capitalism is. There is no equality between the capitalists and the proletariat, and the proletariat has no freedom to enjoy, let alone the fraternity of the bourgeoisie. On the one hand, there is the crisis of "overproduction", a large amount of milk is poured into the sea, and on the other hand, there are capitalists who are hungry and cold, live in the streets and pursue "freedom, equality and fraternity". At this time, their "conscience" has long been thrown out of the sky.
